SCOTT TO RETURN TO 5 NATIONS BRX COMPETITION
British Rallycross Championship round winner Andy Scott will return to the series this year with his Albatec Racing team’s Peugeot 208 Supercar.
He will be joined in competition by his son and grandson. Scott Sr had planned to contest the 5 Nations BRX season last year until the health pandemic significantly reshaped the calendar and curtailed his plans.
This year 2021 he will be joined by son Marc in the
RX150 Rallycross championship for single-seater buggies while grandson Finley will tackle the single-make Junior RX class for Suzuki Swifts.
Andy Scott said: “It’s been a while since I’ve competed in rallycross, but I’m very much looking forward to racing against all the familiar names again, and hopefully some new drivers to the 5 Nations Trophy.”
Andy Scott made a one-off appearance in the British RX series in 2018, while his team fielded Mark Higgins to the win the title. Marc Scott is a multiple RX150 class champion and has also raced a Supercar for the family team in the World RX when he deputised for Jacques Villeneuve in the Turkish round in 2014.
