Emberson takes the wheel of the ‘chocolate drop’
John Emberson gave the famous Chevron B26 ‘chocolate drop’ its first UK race for several years at Donington Park when he ran the ex-works car in the Masters Historic Sports
Car championship.
Raced in period for the works by Brian Redman, Peter Gethin and John Watson, the distinctive brown livery gave the car its name.
Its results included fourth in the World Sportscar championship round at Brands Hatch in 1974 and it later won the British Sportscar championship with Iain McLaren.
“I’ve had it since August 2019,” said Emerson, who also races a Chevron B19. “But I only raced it once at Estoril last year. It’s not raced for several years, and it’s a great piece of history.”
