FORES GETS BRITISH F3 SEASON-OPENER CHANCE
Ex-club racer Alex Fores has inked a deal to compete in BRDC British Formula 3’s season opener with Chris Dittmann Racing on Brands Hatch’s Grand Prix circuit later this month.
Fores, who last year graduated from club competition to BRDC F3 via F3 Cup, impressed in a recent two-day Silverstone GP test alongside an FIA Formula 3 driver. Fores also gets a Brands GP test on May 13.
Fores, 21, told Motorsport News: “How Silverstone went was a big factor for Dave Bromfield [Fores’s backer], to see me matching this FIA F3 driver and be competitive on times throughout the whole grid, you just thought ‘have to get out for the first race’ otherwise we’d be thinking ‘what if?’ Silverstone is what’s made this happen so hopefully same can happen at Brands, then who knows?
“[Doing the full season] has always been Plan A. The deciding factor, we all know what that is! All I can do is use every opportunity to the max.”
