Tarrant honour

Fifty years after he lost his life at Thruxton, former Special Saloon racer Brian Tarrant was remembered during the Classic Sports Car Club meeting at the Hampshire track. Enthusiast Peter Hulme provided a trophy for the V8 cars in the Special Saloons race in memory of a pioneer of bigengined racing saloons. In the late 1960s, Tarrant fitted a Chevrolet V8 into an Austin A40 and achieved some notable results with the fearsome device.
