HERO-ERA organiser to go green in ’21
HERO-ERA, the prominent organiser of classic rallies, is one of the first major historic motorsport organisations to become carbon neutral.
As World governments seek to significantly reduce carbon emissions, HERO-ERA is leading the way in historic motorsport and has already neutralised its 2020 carbon output. That will continue this year and beyond, even as the organisation returns to running major endurance rallies.
Working with decarbonisation specialists BeZero Carbon, the entire HERO-ERA carbon output in 2020 was calculated at 424 tonnes, a figure that even included heating the organisation’s offices.
“Historic motorsport is a negligible carbon contributor,” said a HERO spokesman. “But it is important that we do this.”
