DEVON CREAM FOR BLOXIDGE FAMILY PAIRING IN THEIR GOLF

-

Exeter Racecourse was the base for the HERO Challenge One with victory going to the VW Golf GTi of Paul and James Bloxidge. The fatherand-son pairing led for most of the day, only losing first place briefly at the event’s mid-point.

Simon Ayris and Matt Outhwaite were 10 seconds behind to take the runner-up spot. They had been badly delayed by farm traffic on the first regularity and had to use their joker to reduce their penalty at the next control to 15s.

Experienced driver Tim Sawyer took to the maps for the first time and navigated Steve Farmer to third place.

Competing in a well-prepared Peugeot 206, Barry Lindsay and Martyn Petry took a clear win on the White Heather Targa at Kirkbride Airfield. They finished two and a half minutes ahead of the field.

Stephen Place and Daniel

Place narrowly beat Martyn Taylor/Peter Wright to the runnerup spot; Taylor/Wright were winners in the Historic Category.

David and Callum Alexander had been expected to go well but retired with a broken driveshaft early on.

Jack and Simon Brien took their Porsche 911 to victory on the Generations Rally. They overhauled long-time leaders

Roger and Leigh Powley in the final sections of the three-day event.
