My Weekly Special - - VINTAGE MAKEOVER -

BEFORE There’s only one colour for vintage glam nails: scarlet! “No matter how long or short, red and shiny talons were the order of the day in the 1940s and 1950s,” said manicurist Sarah Jane Gaffney.

After filing our three girls’ nails, trimming their cuticles and doing a mini hand massage, Sarah Jane was ready to apply the polish. “A vintage makeover is all about feeling relaxed and happy so it’s important to spend time getting everything just right,” added Sarah Jane as she applied two coats of red varnish, then a glossy top coat for added shine.

“Fifty years ago, women had to wait until each coat of polish was dry but today, we have the luxury of special nail drying machines so having glamorous nails is a much less timeconsuming process.”
