My Weekly Special - - VINTAGE MAKEOVER -

Moira Gaffney (49) has a very special occasion to look forward to this December – her 30th wedding anniversary.

“December 7 is our big day – and then on December 16, it’s my husband’s 50th birthday,” explained Moira. “We met on a school trip when we were 15 so to celebrate, we’re going on another trip – to Florida. It will be magical.”

What better reason for looking 1940s fabulous?

After applying a base of foundation and powder, make-up artist Dawn used eyebrow powder to strengthen Moira’s brows before applying liquid eyeliner along her upper eyelids.

“With a vintage look, the liner on the upper eye should be heavier than normal. And lips should stand out.”

To complement the green dress Moira had set her heart on wearing, Dawn gave her deep burgundy lips. “For staying power and definition, I applied concealer over Moira’s lips, then coloured in with a burgundy lip liner before adding lipstick,” Dawn said.

Moira’s film-star red locks were set with pin curls and then, once cool, Kirstie backcombed her hair, rolling two sections into symmetrical Victory Rolls.

“I adore my look,” laughed Moira, as she posed in 1940s pin-up style!
