My Weekly DIET Club

My Weekly Special - - Fiction First Class Mini Serial -

Avirtual gastric band to lose weight might sound like fantasy but this hypnotherapy technique is helping slimmers shed stones. Perhaps not that surprising as hypnosis has a proven track record in helping people give up smoking or overcome phobias.

The Virtual Gastric Band hypnotherapy technique was invented by UK hypnotherapist Sheila Granger who trained more than 2,500 hypnotists in the method. Sheila is a accredited by the General Hypnotherapy Register which operates to the professional practice standards of The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council https://www.generalhypnotherapy-register.com/ The Council describes hypnosis as “healing by trance, a state of mind enhanced by (although not exclusively) mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind. The state of mind can be by self-hypnosis or with help from another person.”

Sheila says, “There’s still a perception that hypnotherapy is just entertainment or quackery but the key part of the word is ‘therapy’. My methods are a million miles away from the ‘hypnotist’ stage shows getting people to do silly things. I use safe, evidence-based clinical techniques to help change the way people think and give them strategies to manage challenging situations.”

Virtually everyone can be hypnotised, but some more readily than others. Whether hypnotherapy can help you is usually apparent within a few sessions. During and after losing weight with hypnotherapy, as with any other method, it is important to also improve eating habits with moderate portions of healthy foods – like the Mediterranean diet, below.
