Step into a Portrait Of Christmas at Powis Castle, where festive scenes unfold before your eyes. Inside the house, giant gilt frames show Portraits Of Christmas under the golden glow of chandeliers. Outside, the gardens are bathed in beautiful illuminations. Follow paths through the terraced garden into the valley, passing illuminated foliage, topiary covered in sparkling lights, and you’ll see the organgery dressed for Christmas, with decorated trees and fairy lights. Willow sculptures and shadow silhouettes are displayed around the garden, and the Courtyard Restaurant is open for a warming brew or a festive tipple. Traditional decorations and clever installations inside the house will reveal more about how the Herbert family spent their Christmases here.
