Help Santa Help A Child

-

This year, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact on our lives, we know that some children may be worried about what Christmas may be like for them and if they will be able to spend it with their loved ones,” says Catherine Cherry, head of Individual Giving at the NSPCC. “One way that families can create some magic is by sending children a personalised Letter From Santa.

“For almost 20 years we have been offering parents, grandparents and other family members the oppor tunity to spark the Christmas magic by sending the children in their life a personalised Letter From Santa which is delivered in the post. We’ve got eight fun, festive designs that you can choose from and you can personalise these designs with details such as the child’s favourite activity, an achievement from the year and the name of a friend or family member. All the letters are also available in Welsh. “If you can, we would encourage you to make a £5 donation to the NSPCC when you order your letter. Now more than ever, we need your suppor t so we can be here for children who need our help. We have heard from thousands of children who have found the lockdown and the challenges posed by the pandemic difficult, with many struggling to cope due to school closures, limited access to wider suppor t networks and the difficulties around home

learning.

“Home is not always a safe place and the national lockdown posed increased risks to some children. After months of being trapped inside with their abuser, some children may now also have to face the prospect of spending a long period of time at home with them during the Christmas holidays.

“Since it first launched, the NSPCC has sent out 2.88 million personalised Letters From Santa to children and raised vital funds for the charity.

“Please help us if you can, so we can continue to suppor t our frontline staf f to adapt and be here for children – no matter what challenges the pandemic throws at us.”
