MATERIALS

4 (5, 6, 7, 9, 11) 142g balls of Red Hear t Super Saver Brushed in Soft Mink (5030). One pair 5.5 mm (No. 5) knitting needles; stitchhold­ers. You can order directly from readicut.co.uk, telephone 01162 713759.

TENSION

17 sts and 23 rows to 10cm measured over st-st using 5.5mm needles.

With right side facing, slip next 28 (29, 32, 34, 37, 38) sts on to a st-holder. Join yarn to rem sts.

Shape left shoulder and neck –

1st row – Ssk, knit to end.

2nd row – Purl until 2 sts rem, P2tog.

FRONT

Cont straight in st-st until armhole measures 19 (19, 20.5, 20.5, 21.5, 21.5) cm, ending after a purl row. Shape right neck –

1st row – K10 (12, 13, 14, 15, 16), K2tog, turn. Leave rem sts on a st-holder.

2nd row – P2tog, purl to end

of row.

3rdrow– Knit until 2 sts rem,

K2tog.

4th row – Purl.

Rep last 2 rows once more, then 3rd row once – 7 (9, 10, 11, 12, 13) sts.

Cont straight until armhole measures same length as back to shoulder, ending after a purl row.

Cast off.

Shape left neck –

With right side facing, slip next 22 (23, 26, 28, 31,

32) sts on to st-holder. Join yarn to rem sts.

1st row – Ssk, knit to end of

row. 2nd row – Purl until 2 sts rem, P2tog.

3rdrow– As 1st.

4th row – Purl.

Rep last 2 rows once more, then 3rd row once – 7 (9, 10, 11, 12, 13) sts.

Cont straight until armhole measures same length as back to shoulder, ending after a knit row. Cast off.

To Make Up – PM on each side of front and back, 20.5cm from cast-on edge, then sew armband seams and side seams to markers.
