The King Charles III Coronation £5 Coin

-

ONE OF THE FIRST COINS TO RECEIVE ROYAL APPROVAL TO CELEBRATE HIS MAJESTY’S CORONATION ON MAY 6, 2023 The New Portrait of Our New King: King Charles III has opted for a modern and subtle take on his portrait, choosing to be represented without a crown. The portrait is by Jody Clark, who designed the fifth and final British coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

On May 6, 2023, we celebrate the first royal coronation for 70 years, a landmark event in British history that few of us will have experienced before. To mark this momentous milestone, The King Charles III Coronation £5 Coin has been authorised for release — one of the first coins to receive royal approval to celebrate the occasion.

Layered in Pure Silver and in a Proof Finish

Fully layered in pure .999 silver and struck to the finest collectors’ Proof quality, this coin is crafted to the traditional crown size (38.6mm) reserved for royal commemorations — a fitting keepsake for this momentous royal milestone.

Approved by Buckingham Palace, just 40,000 coins will be issued

Fully approved by Buckingham Palace, the mintage of the King Charles III Coronation £5 Coin has been set at just 40,000, chosen to match our late Queen's 1953 Coronation Proof Crown coin. This means that once it is sold out, no more can be produced ever.

The coin is available to order from Heritage Coins for just £9.95+p&p*.

Orders will be limited to one per UK household, and the mintage will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis commencing March 6th 2023. You need pay nothing until after you receive your coin. With your order, you will join our priority list to receive the five further editions in the King Charles III Coronation Coin Set for just £39.95+£3.99p&p each. The next coin will be sent to you to preview on our 14-day no-obligation home approval service as soon as it released. We promise you’ll never have to keep a coin you don’t absolutely love.
