I’m celebrating warm sunny days this month with my summer hat and drinks trolley at the ready! Here’s my pick of the best buys this month.

Primark £5 Summer Hat

I’ve lost count of the times I’ve stood in airport shops debating whether to splash out on a sun hat. It always seems to add the glamour factor to beach trips, aside from protecting your face and head from the sun! So I’m very excited to have spotted the perfect summer hat in Primark for just £5. Because the material is bendy and pliable it’s totally packable, so you won’t need to wear it on an overnight flight home!

Aldi Haysmith’s Rhubarb and Ginger Gin

I’m looking forward to summer drinks in the garden this year now we’ve had our decking done. And when it comes to summer tipples – I’ve loving this rhubarb gin from Aldi which sounds crazy as I’ve never liked rhubarb. But, bear with me. After trying a rhubarb gin at a party (which I loved!), I discovered this one at Aldi and the combination of rhubarb and ginger makes for an amazing flavour. Don’t just take my word for it – this gin is one of the best in the world! it won the accolade at the International Wine and Spirits Competition recently. £14.99 for 70cl.

Sun Protection Without Looking Shiny!

Sun protection isn’t just for days on the beach or by the pool – but if you’re at a summer wedding, slapping on suncream under your make-up can often mean it slips off and you risk a shiny, greasy face. Ambre Solaire Overmakeup protection mist (SPF50) is the perfect solution. You can do your make-up as usual, then spray on a fine mist. It works a treat for protection without the shine or grease. The cheapest place I’ve found this is Superdrug at

£7.99 (75ml).
