Marzipan Mulled Plum Tarts

Preparatio­n time: 10min Serves: 6 (2 each)

INGREDIENT­S ◆ 2 plums, halved and pitted ◆ 2tbsp light muscovado or soft brown sugar ◆ 4tbsp red wine ◆ 1 small orange ◆ Pinch of ground mixed spice ◆ 12 mini sweet pastry tart cases ◆ 80g marzipan, grated 1 Thinly slice each plum half into 3 (to give 12 slices in total). Put into a

saucepan with the sugar and red wine. 2 Shred some of the zest from the orange and reserve for decoration. Squeeze the juice and add to the pan with the mixed spice. Simmer gently until the plums are tender – 4-5min. 3 Share the marzipan between the tarts. Lightly grill, or use a cook’s blowtorch to brown lightly. Top with the plum slices and decorate with orange zest.
