Audrey’s Top Six Essentials!
Face those March winds with a radiant complexion, silky hair and glossy lips thanks to this week’s super selection…
1. Bargain Buy
Luxurious e.l.f. Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette Summer Breeze £10, Superdrug includes 10 velvety shadows so you can build a smoky eye, go bold in plummy purple or soft in peachy nude. The possibilities are endless! No applicator included though so you’ll need to use your own.
2. Sunshine Skin
Sunscreen year-round is a must to keep wrinkles at bay. Bioderma Photoderm Max Aqua fluid Light SPF50+ £13.10, Boots is one of the most pleasing I’ve tried. It’s light and easy to apply, with a dry finish and hint of colour (two tints, light or gold) giving enough coverage for a foundation-free spring.
3. Pure Beauty
Super Facialist Pure Sensitive, Boots is formulated for delicate skin with aloe vera, chamomile, shea butter and coconut water. Micellar Cleansing Gel £8.99 removes all make-up without the dry, tight feeling, while Overnight Skin Recovery Cream £15.99 leaves skin less crumpled in the morning.
4. Shine Booster
It’s so hard to give dry hair shine but with Shea Moisture Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Collection £10.99, Superdrug your problems are over. The creamy shampoo, free of chemical nasties, lathers nicely and the conditioner leaves hair moisturised and soft; highly recommended.
5. Statement Lips
Who says 50+ women are invisible? With Pure Color Envy Paint-On Liquid Lip Color £25, Estée Lauder there’s no danger of fading away! The colours are intense, the finishes sophisticated; choose matte, metallic or vinyl. The vinyl finish has a flattering, glossy shine. I like “Flash It”, a deep, luscious rose.
6. Floral Fix
Cold weather, central heating, air conditioning all have a drying effect on skin. Delicately-scented Organic Rose Floral Water £7.50, and health stores, is an old-fashioned solution, especially good for dry, mature complexions. Use as a toner after cleansing and spritz on throughout the day.
