Year Of The Border
This year has been named Year of the Border and the place to see the UK’s longest double herbaceous border is at Newby Hall Gardens near Ripon in North Yorkshire. There are 14 “garden rooms” on a stunning g 25-acre site and the 172 metre long border packed with 6,500 plants is impressive and beautiful. There are huge drifts of plants in a palette of colours and the border is a haven for bees, butterflies and dragonflies. . Easily accessed from the A1, it’s worth going several times in the season.
