Spend­ing time out­doors ex­poses you to the full spec­trum of day­light, which can have a pos­i­tive ef­fect on mood and well­be­ing. It’s bet­ter than be­ing cooped up in­doors for many rea­sons, but the ben­e­fits of day­light in par­tic­u­lar are a boost in vi­ta­min D, higher pro­duc­tiv­ity, im­proved vi­sion and bet­ter sleep. Day­light is a mood en­hancer be­cause your body pro­duces more of the “happy” hor­mone, sero­tonin, es­pe­cially when there’s some sun­shine around. So get out­side!
