Cathy’s Bucket List

She’s achieved a huge amount, but there are still a couple of things on Cathy’s bucket list.

“I would love to live somewhere with chickens and goats.” She smiles. “My favourite programme is GrandDesigns and it would be great to have somewhere with a bit of land to grow vegetables.”

Professionally, she harbours a rather surprising ambition. “I’d love to be in Dr Who,” she laughs. “I could be a long-lost relative of the new Doctor, or be covered in latex, I don’t mind! I’d also enjoy playing someone in corsets. At drama school you play all these period characters. In my professional life I’ve just been a modern girl.”

Several of her Casualty colleagues have competed in StrictlyComeDancing, including Charles Venn this year. “I have said it would be the only reality show I would do and I’m not a bad mover, but watching Charles go through it – it really is punishing. I don’t know.”
