ABOUT ADOPTION

-

The latest figures show a 7% increase in children waiting to be adopted but a fall in the number of people approved as adopters, so there really is an urgent need to find the right adopters for children who need them.

You have to be over 21 to adopt a child but there’s no upper age limit and it doesn’t matter if you’re single, married or in a relationship. What you do need is to be healthy and energetic, have good parenting skills and understanding of children’s needs. If you’re interested, find out more at WWW.GOV.UK/CHILD-ADOPTION
