Prince Louis’ First Christmas
Little bundled up Prince Louis will surely be the star of the show this Christmas, receiving many cuddles and coos from every royal at the small family gathering.
Traditionally Christmas and New Year is spent with only close family at Sandringham, the Queen’s country estate in Norfolk – but celebrations were at Windsor up until 1988.
And the Cambridge children will have opened their presents well before the rest of Britain’s children as the royals normally open their presents on Christmas Eve, a legacy of the German heritage of the monarchy.
However, given that tradition seems to be losing its appeal with the royals, it’s likely that Will and Kate might give their children – Princess Charlotte, Prince George and Prince Louis – some presents to open on Christmas Day. And despite rumours that for Louis’ first Christmas the Cambridge family would spend Christmas Day with Kate’s family in Berkshire instead, it’s now been confirmed that they will be joining Meghan and Harry and the rest of the Royals at Sandringham as usual.
Last year, Prince George was “delighted” after Santa got him the one present he really wanted – a toy police car! He wrote to Santa about it and Prince William told his son that he personally delivered the handwritten letter to Santa on a trip to Helsinki!
According to Prince William himself there was “much excitement” when George got his toy car at Sandringham. So let’s hope Charlotte, George and Louis are just as pleased this year with Santa’s efforts.
