I too always gave money to the homeless sitting in our towns and often wondered whether I was doing the right thing. However last winter I bought some multi-packs of socks. Now if I see a homeless person I ask if they would like a pair. I have always been thanked. It seems so much better than just walking past and giving a few coins.” Pat
