We bank on 9 years of use from our fridges and look forward to 6½ years’ hard graft from our toasters. But the research also discovered that 57% of us have gadgets and appliances in our kitchens that we rarely, if ever, use. In top place for gathering dust on our kitchen shelves, or being buried in the back of a cupboard, were food processors, bread makers, slow cookers and juicers.
