The most unashamedly romantic movie Cary ever made was An Affair To Remember. Nickie (Grant) and Terry (Deborah Kerr) meet on board a liner, but neither is single. They agree to meet at the Empire State Building in six months if they are single. Terry is on her way when she is involved in an accident and ends up in a wheelchair. Nickie finally tracks her down and realises why she didn’t come and sweeps her into his arms.
