Generally speaking, people don’t eat enough protein. For the body to work (that includes heart beating, nails growing as well as actually moving) it needs energy. We want it to use our stores of fat for energy and not to break down protein (our muscles) for energy. On the 21 Day Blast plan, we encourage you to eat more protein, preferably at every meal, to feed and preserve this muscle. This doesn’t mean chewing on hunks of steak all day! Pulses, beans, tofu, eggs, fish, nuts are all encouraged as good sources.
