How many times have I heard someone say “I want to lose weight, I must start running”? Doing cardio work is great for fitness but it’s only half the fat-loss equation. Strength work (squats, pressups, crunches etc) to really challenge your muscles is vital. Once challenged, they respond to that challenge by becoming denser and stronger and they burn more energy in this new dense state. Strength is so important. It increases your daily calorie burn, protects your joints and helps you avoid injury. Muscle is a word many women are afraid of. Don’t be. We’ve all got it… let’s use it!
