How many times have I heard some­one say “I want to lose weight, I must start run­ning”? Do­ing car­dio work is great for fit­ness but it’s only half the fat-loss equa­tion. Strength work (squats, pres­sups, crunches etc) to re­ally chal­lenge your mus­cles is vi­tal. Once chal­lenged, they re­spond to that chal­lenge by be­com­ing denser and stronger and they burn more en­ergy in this new dense state. Strength is so im­por­tant. It in­creases your daily calo­rie burn, pro­tects your joints and helps you avoid in­jury. Mus­cle is a word many women are afraid of. Don’t be. We’ve all got it… let’s use it!
