BEDDING PLANTS

-

Penstemons are tolerant of drought and an excellent choice for a burst of colour. They do need good drainage and to be in a light bright position, so if your garden has heavy soil, it’s probably best to treat them as bedding plants for summer only. However, they are easy to root from cuttings. I cut my penstemons back in spring so that they produce new shoots and then they flower from June to the first frosts.
