When summer finally comes along, it is the perfect time to throw off the accumulati­on of winter layers and get ourselves outside. Even half an hour a day, sitting in the shade, will do us good! We get necessary Vitamin D from the sun, and it is responsibl­e for helping us absorb the minerals needed for healthy bones, teeth and muscles. It is also an excellent method of boosting our mood and helping protect us against obesity, diabetes, certain cancers and high blood pressure.
