SAM DAY, 49, LAUNCHED HAPIHEMP AFTER FINDING CBD HELPED ALLEVIATE THE LASTING SIDE EFFECTS OF CHEMOTHERAPY…

Watching my daughter, Megan, leave home for school without me by her side, I was devastated. I should have been at the school gates but I could barely get out of bed. In my late 30s I was diagnosed with Post Viral Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Sleep Apnoea. It was a dark and lonely time and it felt like life was carrying on without me. Just when I thought I’d reached rock

bottom, in 2017 I found a lump in my breast and was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. Treatment was brutal and when it finished in April 2018, I was left with exhaustion, anxiety and depression. Searching for ways I might be able to help myself, I kept reading about CBD. Just a few droplets under my tongue and I started sleeping better. The depression lifted, my energy improved and pain lessened. Within a week I felt like a new person.

Meanwhile my friend Lorraine, 51, suffered from debilitating panic attacks relying on antidepressants. Lorraine, who also found CBD to be of great help, suggested we go into business together. Lorraine and I were united in our passion and in February 2019 we officially launched hapihemp, putting our savings into producing CBD that is safe and effective. Now, the business is worth £125k and we managed to launch two new products during lockdown. I’m no longer a poorly mother or a tired wife. I still get fatigue and pain at times but I can manage it now, whereas before it wiped me out.
