Eastbourne's Beachfront

-

E bastbourne iis another h ffavourite i and an ideal seaside destination for a winter beach walk. Starting from the Holywell Tea Chalet, you can walk along the flat promenade past the Wishtower which is a trip in itself! This Martello Tower was built back in the 1800s as a defence against the French, and is now occasionally open for tours thanks to a local voluntary community group. If it’s open do go in, as it’s fascinating and all donations are welcome.

Eastbourne is famous for its floral carpet gardens which you can’t miss as you approach the pier. Just after the pier, stop off at Fusciardi’s Ice Cream Parlour, with eighteen fabulous flavours. Keep going in the direction of the harbour to find the Beach Deck. WWW.THEBEACHDECK.CO.UK With a wide terrace upstairs overlooking the beach, wrap up and enjoy a coffee as you watch the nearby Sovereign Sailing Club on the waters.
