Edward Highmore

-

Most of us were devastated when the sudden death of Maurice Colbourne (Tom Howard) forced programme makers to bring Howards’ Way to an abrupt end after six series. It meant we never got to see a resolution to the on-again, off-again relationship between Leo Howard and Abbey Urquhart (Cindy Shelly).

Luckily it wasn’t the last we saw of actor Edward Highmore. His more recent credits include comedy series TheDetectives (1996), the film Elizabeth (1998), TV minseries Mosley (1998) about the life of British fascist Sir Oswald Mosley, and the role of an MP in Sacha Baron Cohen’s AliG Indahouse (2002).

His two sons Freddie and Bertie are also actors with an impressive number of credits and awards already under their belts. And in 2001, Edward and Freddie played father and son in the American television adaptation of Jackandthe Beanstalk:TheRealStory, along with Richard Attenborough, Darryl Hannah and James Corden.

His wife Sue runs a talent agency with the likes of Daniel Radcliffe and Alison Steadman on the books.
