I get fed up being bombarded by charity adverts on television, especially in the afternoons. It’s impossible to concentrate on the programme while being shown pitiful pictures of starving children, downtrodden donkeys, even penguins. We are being asked for money all the time, which pensioners who watch TV at this time can’t afford. Colleen Brunton, London
