Interiors Expert Dilly Orme says, “Try updating your furniture by painting it to blend with a neutral scheme. It’s simpler than you think.”

“Ideally keep the walls, flooring and furniture to the same pale shades to create the feeling that a room is bigger and brighter, creating an overall calming atmosphere. It is so easy to update furniture to tie in with a lick of paint. Without the need to prime or sand, painting furniture with Chalk PaintTM can easily be done in a day – just remember to finish with at least two coats of Chalk PaintTM Wax to seal and protect your handiwork. First remove the handles, then brush over with paint, every which way, using big brush strokes with your hand near the head of the brush. When dry, apply clear wax with a brush rubbing it on every which way. Then rub it over with a lint-free cotton cloth to finish.”
