HERE TO HELP THIS WEEK: An Itchy Scalp

- By Stephanie Sey, Expert Trichologist For Nizoral

Q What can I do about an itchy scalp?

A

Itching is the scalp’s inflammatory response to the overgrowth of the yeast, Malassezia. To deal al with a dry, itchy scalp you firstly need to identify the cause. We have enough sebaceous glands on our scalp to keep the scalp lubricated, so if the scalp feels dry then there is most probably an underlying issue. Some causes could be an allergic reaction to a product or even washing your hair too often with a harsh shampoo. If you are

experiencing an itchy and flaky scalp, try using an anti-dandruff shampoo such as Nizoral®. Nizoral is clinically proven and gives long-lasting relief from dandruff. Nizoral® antidandruff shampoo, £5 for 60ml, is available from Boots, and independent pharmacies nationwide. Always read the label.
