Getting Around

-

Shanks’ Pony is best if you’re central – top attractions are surprisingly close together. Invest in an A-Z and plan your own walking tours in advance.

If you’re planning to use tubes and buses, a visitor Oyster Card can be used on the Underground, buses, trams, overground and NationalRail trains in London, Docklands Light Railway and the Thames Cable Car. A £20 top-up is usually enough for two or three days in the central zone.

You can also hire a

Santander Cycle for just £2 a day – great for exploring the embankment and parks, though I wouldn’t recommend the roads unless you’re confident and experienced.
