Voting fraud is very rare in the UK. Regardless, the government is considering introducing photo ID for electors. Many people don’t have a driver’s licence, passport, bus pass or other form of photo ID and will now have to pay to obtain some. Instead of inflicting unnecessary expense on electors to exercise their democratic right, why not amend polling cards to include a photo? C Fletcher, Essex
