RELIEVES STRESS
Yoga can “reverse” DNA reactions that cause stress, lowering inflammatory compounds in the blood, say Coventry University researchers. “Focusing on your breathing automatically lowers your heart rate and cortisol (stress hormone),” explains yoga teacher and trainer Cheryl MacDonald ( WWW.YOGABELLIES.CO.UK).
“Yoga also requires focus – holding your body in a balanced position, looking inward, focusing solely on your body is akin to meditation,” she adds.
