MAXIMISES MEMORY
Neuroscientists found that a 12-week course of yoga and meditation practice improved mild cognitive impairment in those over 55 – even more effective than memory enhancement exercises – showing bigger improvements in visual-spatial memory. Researchers believe the chanting and visualisations involved in kundalini yoga may strengthen visual skills, improve attention, and also increase production of a protein (brain-derived neurotrophic growth factor), which stimulates the growth of connections among neurons.
