Get Set – Go!
You can save money by producing your own onions and garlic. These are grown from immature bulbs called sets which you buy in the garden centre. Plant them now for harvesting in late summer and weed regularly as onions don’t like competition. If you notice any flowers developing, remove them so the energy goes into making a bulb. Lift carefully with a fork when mature and dry in the sun.
