Grow Edible Flowers
Enliven your veg patch by growing g flowers around the edges. This not only y makes it look attrac ctive but it brings in insec cts to pollinate the vegetables. Low growing types of nasturtium make a vibrant edging and the leaves and flowers can be used in salads. The trailing variety ‘Empress of India’ has purple-green leaves and crimson flowers and can also be grown in a hanging basket. Calendula petals add bright orange to salads, pansies come in lots of different colours and borage flowers are sky blue.
