My daughter’s at university – will she be affected by any changes?

◆ There are plans to change the way student loans are repaid in England, from September 2023. Students part way through a course won’t be affected by these changes, whether they do actually come in or not. The plans extend the time limit before loans are wiped out, from thirty to forty years, drop income level at which students start to repay from £27,295 to £25,000, and change the way interest is charged. The maximum that can charge for courses will stay frozen at £9,250pa for another two years.
