MY PASSION
Living in Burnley, Lancashire, I loved that Fancy That (issue 5614) mentioned that the last steam-driven weaving shed, Queen Street Mill in Burnley, closed in 1982. My husband and I have memories of our older relatives working there, and they have told us how deafening the looms were, and they often used a kind of sign language to communicate.
