DEVOTED DAUGHTER
Yet again, Princess Anne was the busiest royal of all last year, completing almost 390 official engagements despite restrictions limiting her visits overseas. Included in these was taking her mother’s place as the reviewing officer at the annual Sovereign’s Parade at the royal military academy at Sandhurst.
Back in 1992, the Queen was asked which of her multiple duties she considered to be most important and she responded, “investitures”. These events are too physically demanding for our 95-year-old monarch now, and her family have willingly taken them on, Princess Anne performing more investitures than any other royal since Covid restrictions were lifted.
This month, the princess travels to Australia to represent the Queen at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, in her capacity as patron of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth.
