Special Events
Families can have fun solving clues at four Roman forts along Hadrian’s Wall (July 23 – September 4) while other themed events on selected weekends at English Heritage sites include artillery competitions, falconry displays and authentic re-enactments.
In the summer months, a contemporary artwork will be on display at Housesteads Roman Fort, inspired by the gatehouses along the Wall.

Handy with a needle? Take part in Vindolanda’s 1900 Bunting Challenge to knit, sew or crochet 1,900 flags that will decorate a replica section of Hadrian’s Wall in an exhibition from October 22-30.
