Plant A Native Tree Species

Ilove watching the long tailed tits foraging for insects in the little hawthorn outside my window. Plant a native tree and you are not only planting something beautiful to look at, but you are benefiting the wildlife that has evolved alongside it. Fruiting trees such as rowan provide berries for birds, silver birches have tiny seeds that goldfinches and siskins love, while wild cherry has spring blossom giving nectar and pollen to lots of insects. Crab apples feed thrushes and redwings, and produce masses of colour ful fruits.
