Anthea Turner How I See It...

-

Hello,

How many times do we trot out the phrase, “Doesn’t time fly?” Well, the older I’ve become the more I’m convinced time has strapped itself to a supersonic jet!

I was telling a friend the other day that Mark and I had been together for three years when in fact it’s four this July, and it was only summer

2021 when I was going through the final drafts of my book HowToAgeWell:The Secrets. I refer to this because my publisher has asked me to consider writing a second book and I’m in the process of looking at subjects we didn’t cover last time.

At one time companies would summon the help of market researchers when deciding what to publish, but for this magazine we have wonderful you to help us. You tell us exactly what you want through letters, emails or social media. With its quick responsive style followers don’t hold back on what worries them, so my next book will be based on that precious feedback.

PUT LIFE IN YOUR YYEARS

We can’t stop aging but we can put life in our years by staying as healthy as possible and health preoccupies those of us who have tipped over the sixty mark. Don’t get me wrong we still have interest in hair, clothes and make-up. We see the change in confidence when someone has a makeover. But all these fripperies are nothing if we’ve ignored our health.

I want this book to be the reader’s wise older friend.

You Y should always have h some friends 10 years older than you and 10 years younger. The older ones will tell you what’s coming and the younger ones ke eep you motivated. I ha ave a wide spread of friends representing all age groups and I’m grateful to all of them for their advice.

LOOK AFTER YOUR NECK!

I’m researching necks at the moment because I’m being asked questions about improving the look of them, but did you know that it’s not all about you swerving the factor 50 and not caring for your skin?

Your head is a heavy old thing for your vertebrae to hold in place, and over the years – due to natural aging and bad posture – the discs between your spine’s vertebrae flatten, thus shortening your neck and giving the appearance of sagging skin.

Think of your discs as once fluffy marshmallows that were left out, and now they are less flexible and flatter. There are ways you can help lessen the blow – all of which I’m looking into – but in the meantime, shoulders back and stand up (or sit up) straight!

Love, Anthea X
