ON THE TABLE

What we’ve been enjoying in the world of food and travel

- Nicola Trup, deputy editor

The Barbary Next Door, the little sister to The Barbary restaurant, in London’s Neal’s Yard. Highlights of the Middle Eastern/north African-inspired menu included a delicious take on Tunisian fricasse and a tangy, citrussy sea bass crudo.

I’VE BEEN DRINKING…

One of my favourite cocktails, the jungle bird. All the best attributes of rum, Campari, pineapple juice and lime come together in a refreshing, complex blend that’s way too easy to drink. Zane Henry, project editor

I’VE BEEN USING…

Cured egg yolks instead of parmesan. I bathe them in salt before rinsing and then drying them out in the oven on a very low temperature. Grate them over pasta dishes, salads or soups for an umami kick. Lauren Gamp, art editor

I’VE BEEN READING…

Burp: The Other Wine Book. It’s full of stylish illustrations and photography, as well as snappy insights into 40 wines from around the world

— all selected for their interesting backstory and equally interesting labels. Lauren Atkinson-smith, art editor
