Waste not, want not

I was intrigued by Aaron Millar’s article in the June issue of your magazine, which looked at organisations in Patagonia that are trying to do something productive with the vast amounts of plastic waste we produce. I’ve long thought there must be some use for all this plastic — that it could be recycled or repurposed — so it was very encouraging to hear that companies are actually producing everything from skateboards to sunglasses from our waste. So much of what we read is doom and gloom these days, it was a pleasant change to come across an article with a positive outlook. TOBY PALM
