Q // I’ve booked travel to Copenhagen for a long weekend, but hotels seem expensive. Is there any good, budget accommodation in the city?

Although it’s one of the world’s most liveable and designfriendly cities, Copenhagen can also be quite expensive. I know of three stylish places to stay that won’t put a strain on your budget. For a combination of great design, aordability and facilities then Steel House Copenhagen is perfect. It’s a five-minute walk from the dreamy Tivoli Gardens and the city’s Central Station and has a clean Nordic design. Common facilities include a wellequipped kitchen and heated indoor pool plus common lounge and bar. Rates start from €30 (£25) per night for a dorm, €130 (£111) for a double.

If you’re looking for something quieter yet still social with a focus on wellbeing, then the Woodah Hostel in Vesterbro is a fantastic choice. Owned by yoga enthusiasts, Woodah has deals in place with local yoga schools for guests. The hostel’s organic homemade breakfast in its onsite cafe is a nice place to start the day while the custom-made bunk beds with privacy curtains oer a good night’s sleep. Rates start from €30 (£25) for a dorm, €75 (£64) for a double bed in a mixed dorm.

Finally, if you’re looking for character, facilities and design at a reasonable price then look no further than the Philippe Starck-inspired Generator Copenhagen in the heart of the city. This hostel has incredible facilities, from the basement Reflections ice bar to a firstfloor lounge area with cinema. Rates start from €35 (£30) for a dorm, €117 (£100) for a double. steelhousecopenhagen.com woodah-hostel.com staygenerator. com budgettraveller.org
