MORE TO TRY
ENGELBERG, SWITZERLAND
Small and quirky with cosy bars and a huge monastery. It’s northfacing, has a glacier and slopes up to 9,850ft — a very cool ski area.
NEUSTIFT, AUSTRIA
A nice town near Innsbruck and a bus ride from the amazing Stubai Glacier — there’s brilliant skiing as well as really good beginner slopes. Another great area, Schlick 2000, is just down the road.
CRANS-MONTANA, SWITZERLAND A place where very few Brits go, vastly underrated. There’s scenery to die for, a glacier and mountain restaurants with some of the best views in the Alps.
